Title Description
AE (or Ã?)  It refers to a coin which does not contain silver or  gold – ie which is struck from brass, bronze or copper. It is derived from aes, the Latin for bronze.
Alloy  The mixture of two or more metals.
AR(or AR conjoined)

The abbreviation for silver. It is derived from  argentum, the Latin for silver.

Assay

An analytical test to ascertain the purity of precious metals.
