Valuations By Grade
This following list of valuations gives a monetary pounds sterling value for all coin type grade combinations that exist in the CGS population report, so a value should be available for all coins that have been graded and encapsulated by CGS. Coin type grade combinations which in theory may exists such as a HC.G1.1726.01 Unc 85 (a 1726 Halfcrown in Unc 85) but in practice have never been graded by CGS are not included and the entry against them will be blank, or the coin type not listed.
The list of valuations given is formulated by an ongoing monitoring system that CGS carry out, which all members are welcome to take part in (simply send to us any information you become aware of concerning prices which any CGS coins have traded at) . We receive empirical price information from a number of sources mostly dealers, and auctions informing us of any CGS graded coins which change hands its coin type and grade and price. We use this along with other considerations to formulate the following prices which are our opinion of what dealers would ask for the coin types in the grades shown.
It should be borne in mind that when selling coins collectors may be offered prices which differ from those listed here. Markets may have moved and dealers buying prices will naturally be less than their selling prices, when selling collectors are advised to approach a selection of potential outlets including auction houses and allow themselves sufficient time to do this. Also approach companies that have a known track record and experiences in handling CGS graded and encapsulated coins.
A list is given of known dealers and auctions who have handled CGS graded coins.
